Training - T362 32/87 & 32/97 Advanced CPU/IPU Fault Isolation

Course: T362 (10 Days)

Prerequisites:

Completion of course T360 and T361 or two years experience in maintaining a CONCEPT 32/97 or CONCEPT 32/87 system.

Description:

Course T362 provides the student with the advanced skills needed to fully utilize the facilities of the Z-80 Executive Program (ZXP) and the Field Support System (FSS) for troubleshooting problems in the CPU/IPU.

Upon completion of the this course, the student will be able to:

  • Identify all major CPU circuitry at the logic level
  • Use an oscilloscope to aid in locating failing CPU/IPU circuitry
  • Use the Z-80 Diagnostic Executive Program to troubleshoot Instrumentation Unit Failures
  • Use the Field Support System to isolate Execution Unit microdiagnostic failures
  • Use the Field Support System to encode microprogram routines to aid in fault isolation
  • Use the Field Support System to set microcode breakpoints on macro routines
  • Use all applicable technical documentation to aid in fault isolation
